Chicken Biryani with Raisins Recipe

Chicken Biryani Ingredients

  • 1 Chicken ( for 4 persons )

For each chicken take:

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 pinch curd
  • 3 medium size onions
  • Oil or ghee
  • 1 oz Almonds
  • 2 oz Raisins
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 tsbp. Saffron
  • Salt to taste

Grind together to form a smooth paste:

  • 2 medium size Onions
  • 6 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 4-inch Ginger piece
  • 1 Sprig coriander
  • 1 Sprig mint
  • 4 Small cardamoms
  • 2 Blades mace
  • 4 Cloves
  • 2tsbp. Poppy seeds
  • 1 inch Stick cinnamon
  • Green chilies

How to make Chicken Biryani

  • Cleanup the chicken and cut into 4-6 pieces.
  • Add the ground spices towards the curd and combine well and marinate chicken pieces for almost 2 hrs.
  • In a pan heatup oil and fry slice onions til they become golden brown and crispy.
  • Now add onions to the marinated chicken and mix gently.
  • Boil chicken over medium heat and parboil the white rice.
  • In a large pan, place a layer of rice after that make layer of chicken gravy and atleast 2 chicken pieces until all chicken gravy and rice are finished.
  • Over the top layer of rice, place a good small amount of oil or ghee.
  • Take some warm milk and dissolve crush saffron then sprinkle over chicken biryani.
  • For covering pan, seal the edge of pan with a flour paste.
  • Place it in a large
  • Place it in a large covered vessel that contains water and hang up the whole in order to steam for approximately 1/2 hour.
  • Fry raisins and slice almonds then sprinkle over chicken biryani with nuts and slices of boiled eggs.
  • Chicken biryani is ready to serve with mint chutney or raita.
